Dirty Cello Quartet: Sunday, May 19, 2024

Friday, August 4, 2023

ABOUT THIS EVENT

The Mazza Castle Music Salon Series welcomes the Dirty Cello Quartet.

“Dirty Cello’s music is all over the map: funky, carnival, romantic, sexy, tangled, electric, fiercely rhythmic, and textured, and only occasionally classical.” – Oakland Magazine

“San Francisco-based crossover cello whiz Rebecca Roudman and her group Dirty Cello, playing everything but classical.” – Monterey County Weekly

“A regular performer with various Bay Area symphonies, Roudman has crafted a norm-breaking bluegrass to blues-rock project that brings her instruments and music closer to the audience. As a casual observer, she seems equally driven for the quality of music and performance. It’s no wonder she is gaining fans everywhere she performs. Dirty Cello, catch them when you can.– Chico Music

Roudman has been called “the Jimi Hendrix of the cello,” though her versatile vocal approach is another lynchpin to the band’s ongoing appeal.”– Sacramento News and Review
