Please join us at the Mazza Castle for an evening of Brazilian music with the Som Dela quartet,
Som Dela (“her sound” in Portuguese) is a new quartet composed of four outstanding Bay Area musicians: Jane Lenoir, flute; Irene Sazer, violin; Rebecca Hass, piano; and Michaelle Goerlitz, percussion.
All virtuosic and eclectic musicians and composers in Brazilian music and other improvised styles, they have forged well-earned careers in many diverse groups they have performed with, including Berkeley Choro Ensemble, Real Vocal String Quartet, Modern Spark Trio, SF Opera, Ballet and Symphony, VNote Ensemble, Grupo Falso Baiano, Samba Rio, Montclair Women’s Big Band and more.
The ensemble is dedicated to performing music by women composers from Brazil, including their original compositions, as well as the music of Léa Freire, Luisa Mitre, Carol Panesi, Chiquinha Gonzaga, Anat Cohen, Daniella Spielmann, Lucianna Rabello, and more.

- Doors open at 4 p.m. with complimentary light refreshments and wine. Music begins promptly at 5 p.m
- The program is approximately 75 minutes with no intermission.
- Music salons are for adults only.
- No outside food or drink, spiked heels, or pets are permitted.
- The Castle is not wheelchair accessible and events require walking up and down some stairs.
- The Castle is a non-smoking property.
