Local historian Bridget Oates hosts a room-by-room tour of the Mazza Castle.
Guests learn the history of the Castle from its commissioning following the Great San Francisco Earthquake, to its use as a speakeasy, a barracks, and the mysteries and rumors surrounding the property. Lucky guests may see one of our many ghosts – but don’t worry, they’re friendly.
After the tour guests enjoy light refreshments in one of the Castle’s receiving rooms.
The event lasts 1.5 hours in total and is for adults only.
The Castle is not wheelchair accessible. Tours require walking up and down several flights of stairs.
No outside food or drink, spiked heels, or pets are permitted.
The Castle is a non-smoking property.
In addition to our regular slate of Castle tours and Castle Music Salons, we occasionally host special tour events at the Castle—such as our Holiday and Mother’s Day tea services. You can learn more and book tickets for those events here.
