SFJAZZ is the largest non-profit jazz presenter in the world. Originally founded in 1983 as a two-day festival, SFJAZZ now serves over a quarter of a million fans and students every year through its year-round concert, commissioning, and education programs.

SFJAZZ explores the full spectrum of jazz—from its origins in the African American and Afro Caribbean communities, to its diverse and evolving expressions around the world today. They honor the artists and the music that have influenced or been influenced by jazz, and through creation, presentation and education, they inspire and build a community in the Bay Area and beyond.

A partial list of SFJAZZ’s program offerings include:

  • The SFJAZZ Center which includes two performance spaces, multiple music practice rooms, a digital lab, and the B-Side restaurant and bar.
  • An annual concert season during which SF JAZZ presents 350 concerts featuring curated weekly themes and exclusive programming by a changing cast of Resident Artistic Directors.
  • The San Francisco Jazz Festival, a two week festival every June features over 40 concerts in the Hayes Valley neighborhood.
  • The Summer Sessions concert series which extends for six weeks and celebrates musical traditions across the Americas.
  • Dynamic education programs serving more than 23,000 public school students each year across the Bay Area.
  • SFJAZZ At Home provides exclusive online access to concerts from the SFJAZZ Center.
